The Executive Māori Language Program has been developed especially for the professional, being designed so that it is quick, effective, and convenient.
By using an accelerated or fast track learning system your employees can learn 200 Māori words within 8 weeks, words which make up 72% of the most commonly used Māori conversation starters.
A non-assessed Māori language course enhanced by personal tutoring
Each week, for 8 weeks, students will talk with a personal Māori language tutor via Skype for 1 hour. Within this timeframe students must complete 8 set tasks or assessments via Skype to their personal tutor.
The course is non-assessed; however the learner is awarded a gold-star rating (5 stars being the highest grade) according to their performance. They will also receive a certificate upon the completion of their studies.
Interactive and ‘one to one’ learning, using both Skype and multimedia
The Executive Māori Language Program is tailor made to complement the needs of beginners, and appeals to a range of learning styles.
It comes with a personal one on one online personal trainer and a full resource kit consisting of books, audio CDs, DVDs, interactive CD roms, and a sophisticated online programme.
Develop an understanding of how to perform Māori customs
Apart from teaching you a range of useful Maori words and conversation structures, our Executive Māori Language Program will teach you:
- How to conduct a ‘mihi’ to introduce yourself in formal situations;
- How to conduct a ‘karakia’ or chant in Māori to open and close a formal gathering;
- How to sing a waiata or song to accompany a formal speech;
- The rights and wrong in relations to marae protocol.
